Our Beliefs

About God

We believe in One true and everlasting God. This One God is revealed in three distinct persons,
The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

About the Father

We believe in the Father, the Almighty, who made heaven and earth and all that is. God is
absolute love, absolute good, and absolute holiness. God’s love for us is complete and
unconditional, and compelled the Father to send His own Son to redeem us.

About the Son

We believe in the mystery of salvation through Jesus Christ. God became human in Jesus of
Nazareth; Jesus is fully God and fully human and is the exact representation of God’s nature.
Jesus’ life, death and resurrection is God’s redeeming love in action.

About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is God’s very self, power, and presence with us. When we sense God’s leading,
His challenge, His support, or His comfort, it’s the Holy Spirit at work.

About Human Beings

Genesis 1:27 asserts that we’ve been made in the image of the Creator. Like God we have the
capacity to love and care, to communicate, and to create. Thus, ALL people are of infinite value
and sacred worth.

About Sin

“Sin” is alienation from God and affects ALL people. Sin is both a disease of the soul that
humans are born with and our willful act of turning from God as the center of life. Thus, we need
both healing and forgiveness. We must be born again.

About Salvation

Because sin affects all people, all people stand in need of salvation. We affirm that salvation is
made available to all people through the sacrificial death, the burial, and the resurrection of
Jesus Christ. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus and in Jesus alone.

About The Church

The church is the Body of Christ, the extension of Christ’s life and ministry in the world today. It
is both a family we are saved into and the “hope of the glory” for the world.

About Scripture

We believe that the Bible (the canonical 66 books of the Old and New Testaments) is God’s
divinely inspired Word and is the primary authority for our faith and practice.

About God’s Reign

The kingdom or reign of God is both a present reality and future hope.

Joe Peloquin

Methodist

I’m the custodian at Bellemont Methodist. I’ve proudly served in this role for the past two years. I’m married to my wonderful wife, Sondra, and we share our home with two lovable pups, Charlie and Laci. I’m also a proud grandfather to four amazing grandchildren.
Originally from Rhode Island, I’ve called North Carolina home for many years. I’m a big sports fan and have a true passion for fishing—it’s one of my favorite ways to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

HALEY HENDERSON

Excel Child Enrichment Program Director

Hi! I’m Haley!

Anyone that knows me knows that I love animals and being outside! I have 2 dogs, 2 bunnies, and 6 fish tanks full of all kinds of watery-type animals. When I’m not with the kids or tending to my mini zoo, I’m out working at the farmer’s market! I have been working with the Excel Program for 5 years (2 as Director and 3 as teacher) and have worked in childcare for over 10 years.

JOE PELOQUIN

Church Custodian

Joe started with Bellemont’s custodial team in July of 2023. He is originally from the great state of Rhode Island, and previously served on the custodial team at Front Street UMC in Burlington. After the retirement of Herman Quick, Joe took over as sole custodian for all of Bellemont’s Facilities. Joe is a delightful person with an exuberant personality. He is as friendly as they come and brightens our days. If you see him around the building, stop and say, “Hello.”

KELLY CRAWFORD

Children’s Minister

Hi there! I’m the Children’s Pastor here at Bellemont, and I absolutely love what I do!

I’ve been part of Bellemont since I was a little girl, so this church truly feels like home. I’m married to my husband Brian, and we have two wonderful kids, Alex and Sydney. I also have the sweetest grandson, Eli, who has completely stolen my heart!
